“Hello world!” is the default first post on every WordPress blog. I like the unsophisticated humor of this, particularly because it says to me that the folks at WordPress aren’t taking themselves overly seriously. Which is probably why their product has been improving, incrementally but steadily, for as long as I’ve known about it.
The best blog entry I know of on the topic of “Hello world!” — possibly the best entry on this topic anywhere — is on the blog of my friends over at Opscode, who recently released Chef, an open source server configuration management platform.
